PACLC = Portable Athenaeum Command Line Client is available with one-click instalation
procedure using WebStart. The only requirements is the correctly installed
Java (1.6) on the local machine.
Third server has been deployed in BNL.
Second server has been deployed in Chicago.
Progress bar can be stopped.
Family of equivalent parallel servers suported.
Server statistics is available.
Tag Extraction is available as a standard function, including in the Web Service.
SQLite databases (readable from CERN AFS) are supported.
When you get org.apache.xmlrpc.XmlRpcException: I/O error while communicating with HTTP server: Connection refused
exception, it means (almost certainly) that Athena has crashed. It that case, try another server (port) or
wait for server restart (which should happen within an hour).
JAS3 with integrated Athenaeum client is available with one-click instalation
procedure using WebStart. The only requirements is the correctly installed
Java (1.5 or 1.6) on the local machine.
JAS3 Plugin can access Athenaeum Servers behind firewalls via SSH tunnels.
Tag extraction servers are supported..
The recent log files are available to users.
lxgate01.cern.ch is new dedicated Athenaeum server.
Results can be delivered in the NTuple form, which can be analysed using AIDA-capable tools.
Memory is artificialy restricted on the CERN Server. If you have memory problems on the Web Service, use JAS3 plugin.
Cool task can choose to ask only a summary in the first request, more details can be asked in subsequent requests.
A new Server can be started from the Client.
Web Service contains a Progress Bar.
JAS3 Plugin runs requests in an asynchronous thread so that they don't block interactivity.
